The best edition, in which the 1781 text (cf. lot 313) is entirely re-edited and expanded; the map is considerably altered to show many more details; there also five additional plates, which are copied from those in the official account of the third voyage, showing men and women from Van Diemen's Land, Mangea, Eaoo, the Sandwich islands, Nootka Sound, Prince William's Sound and Onalashka.
