Catalogue Note
Antonio Frilli is first recorded as exhibiting at the Espozione Nazionale di Roma in 1883. He worked primarily in marble, but also in bronze, and his works do not often appear at auction. He is known to have been active mostly in the last two decades of the 19th century, producing decorative, but technically brilliant, sculptures which are almost invariably contemporary in style.
