Condition
Overall in good original condition with the usual wear to the patina in places especially to high reliefs of the composition and such consistent with handling, touching, and cleaning. Light scratches consistent with age. Tarnishing and traces of dirt to gilt-bronze mounts consistent with age and use.
Visible chips and repairs to marble elements and edges. The circular marble pedestal also with chips to edges and visible large repairs. There is discoloration to gilt bronze and also visible seams of construction around the girl's left hand. Visible in online illustration using zoom feature.
We believe that a bronze bird was originally sitting on the black marble base and that the girl was offering her wheat branch to him.
