Condition

Overall in good condition and presentation with the usual minor hairline scratches and minute nicks to veneers and carcass consistent with age and use. Tarnishing to gilt-bronze in places also consistent with age and atmospheric conditions through the years. Mirror is a later replacement. Chips to gilding of floral decoration showing bare wood and gesso in places. Some minute breaks and losses to petal tips.

In Roman mythology, Juno was the chief goddess and female counterpart of Jupiter. She was the protector of the Roman state, as well as the patron goddess of Rome and the Roman empire. Juno was connected to all aspects of the life of women. Her equivalent in Greek mythology is Hera.
