- A substantial manuscript volume of culinary, medical, and household receipts
- ink on paper
ranging from "Dr Bidgood's Gentile vomit" to "Mr Haywoods way to Pickle Pilchards", some entries noting the source of the recipe (some from identifiable West Country families), a few entries written from the reverse, in at least four hands, 59 pages, with an additional four leaves loosely inserted, the volume then reused as "A Catalogue of the Books at Newton Ferrers in Com. Cornwall the Property of Robert Helyar Esq.", manuscript library catalogue with approximately 300 brief entries arranged by format, 21 pages, altogether 80 pages plus blanks, folio (watermark of the arms of the Dutch Republic, similar to Heywood 3140-3145), probably begun c.1700, contemporary vellum, "A Catalogue of the Books at Newton Ferrers" on upper cover, binding stained and worn
