substantial collection of medical prescriptions for major and minor ailments, ranging from "How to make Jelly of Snake skines" to "the new method of Treating In the Small Pox, by the Physitions In Scotland", in many cases with the source of the prescription recorded (for example "Sir Thomas Brown, his Eye Water" and "Mrs Cockins Drink for the Kings Evel"), in at least four different hands, written from both ends of the volume, with contemporary index, about 175 pages, 4to, some entries dated 1730s-40s, contemporary blind calf, binding worn, joints weak, first and last blank endpapers loose, some damp staining to the first and last leaves
