Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the garments are brighter and more vibrant in the original, and the left hand side tends more towards pink in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There is evidence of light wear and handling towards the edges. Very close inspection reveals some light canvas draw in the upper right corner. Further close inspection reveals a small number of minute and unobtrusive hairline cracks in a few places towards the right side of the composition, notably a thin feather crack towards the lower right corner. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.

Catalogue Note
The genesis of this picture, painted in London, was a private impromptu show given to me in a Frederick's of Hollywood changing booth by a friend, the artist Diane Blell, during a shopping expedition in San Francisco.
The idealisation of the body , Gore Vidal's "Myra Breckenridge" and the interchangeability of the sexes were summed up for me by the Frederick's slogan "Where nature leaves off, add with pads".
