Condition

This charming desk has a provincial quality about it. The top has been repolished at some stage and it has been reattached to the piece. There is evidence of some later polish and reconditioning to stabilize and ensure continuity of colour. At some stage the piece appears to have been stained black. There are old mark and scratches throughout, there is evidence of old work to the drawer linings. There are separations to joins. The brass work is later.
