Description

  • stoneware
slip decorated and brightly glazed around the exterior with Immortals amidst ruyi clouds, all between lotus-lappets at the base and a ruyi collar encircling the short neck

Condition

The jar has been broken and restuck, with extensive cracks across the surface and associated repainting. The base has a circular crack visible both to the interior and exterior. There are numerous chips and losses to the relief decoration of the jar. The glazes are misfired resulting in a relatively dull tone.
