Description

  • PORCELAIN
  • the mounts: 25.8cm., 10 1/8 in. and 27cm., 10 5/8 in. high
modelled as young children in 18th century costume seated on chairs holding open books, upon small circular bases, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, incised F.49 and F.51, impressed numerals, with two gilt metal scroll mounts issuing branches with porcelain flowers supporting two sconces, some restoration

Condition

the male figure has restoration to his left hand, the brim of his hat and to the front of the base, a section of the book in his hand is missing. the female figure: there is an area of discoloured painting to the top of the base, there is typical loss to the dipped lace that decorates her dress. A section of lace on her back has been restord.
