Catalogue Note
La paternité de cette chaise revient sans nul doute à Georges Jacob. On retrouve son estampille sur une paire de chaises identiques vendue le 8 décembre 1964 au Palais Galliera, lot 93 ; ces chaises portaient une étiquette Mme de Trudaine / Boudoir. Une chaise du même modèle est conservée au château de Fontainebleau (ill. dans E. Dumonthier, Les Sièges de Jacob Frères, époques du Directoire et du Consulat, Paris, s.d.). Une autre chaise estampillée de Jacob, présentant un dossier similaire mais à l'assise rectangulaire, a été adjugée 7 500 € à Paris, chez Pierre Bergé & Associés, le 25 juin 2008, lot 229. Ce dernier modèle fut reproduit en bois doré sous le Second Empire pour meubler le Salon de Vénus et le Salon de famille au château de Saint-Cloud (ill. dans B. Chevallier, Saint-Cloud, le palais retrouvé, Paris, 2013, p.129). Enfin, un fauteuil de la même série, portant les marques de Trianon, appartient aux collections du Mobilier National (ill. dans M. Jarry, Le Siège français, Paris, 1973, p. 257).
