註：本幅聯文出杜甫，上聯為〈憶昔二首〉句，下聯則引自〈寄韓諫議〉。楊見山云「傅君灌園、高君陶堂」，即傅懷祖（1821-1891 後）及高心夔（1835-1883）。高心夔，江西湖口人，咸豐元年（1851）舉人。工詩文，善書，又擅篆刻，曾先後參曾國藩、李鴻章幕，論功署吳縣知縣，因事去職。有〈陶堂志微錄〉傳世。傅懷祖，浙江山陰人，以詩文見著，繼世業幕，曾參豫橅英桂幕，後於江蘇巡撫署洋務局辦理文案十年，一度署理江蘇海防同知。暮年歸故里，修族譜，有〈灌園未訂稿〉傳世。蔡元培先生曾謂楊峴、高心夔、傅懷祖及劉履芬「以詩古文辭相標識，所謂江蘇同官四名士者也」。從本聯所見即可証楊氏與高、傅二人之交誼，其謙抑自持，故集句書聯以代製文，貽贈好友祝壽。
