Description
- porelain
well modelled in the form of a large peony blossom, naturalistically moulded on the underside with a long curling stalk and serrate leaves wreathing multiple rows of petals overlapping to form the irregular rim, the petals enamelled in pastels of rose-pink gradating to white at their tips, the stalk and furling leaves carefully painted in tones of green and brown and picked out with veins, the interior glazed white
Condition
There are some small flakes to the enamels on the underside and original traces of spur marks. There are two pale brown oxidised stains on the surface to the interior (approx 1.3 x 0.3 cm and 0.3 x 0.2 cm) original to firing together with a few occasional pin-prick air bubbles on the rim, but overall the washer is in very good condition and the enamels particularly well preserved.
