Description

  • porcelain
each decorated around the exterior with five multi-coloured bats grasping an auspicious item in their mouth, the base inscribed in iron red with a four-character seal mark

Condition

The eight bowls are in good overall condition. There are a few expected pinholes or minute specks in the glaze on the interiors, minor impurities to the enamels, or occasional iron spots to the footrim but overall the group has been remarkably well preserved. The enamels are good and the painting very carefully executed. The actual colour is less yellow compared to the catalogue illustration.
