Description

  • Porcelain
finely potted with a globular body rising from a slightly recessed base to a waisted neck and flared mouth, set around the shoulder with four arched lug-handles divided by vertical incisions, applied overall with a smooth sea-green glaze, save for the recessed base left unglazed revealing a pale grey stoneware body

Condition

There is a radiant body line to the edge of the rim (approx. 0.8 cm.), probably a firing flaw, and some expected minor flaws in the glaze near the foot, but overall the jar is in good condition. The actual colour is deeper celadon, less yellow compared to the catalogue illustration.
