- Porcelain
of compressed globular form rising to a short neck, supported on a straight foot slightly wedged on the interior, carved around the exterior with diagonally oriented ribs radiating down from the ribs, applied overall with a lustrous brownish-black glaze thinning to white on the rises, save for the foot and the knife-pared rim revealing a light-grey stoneware body
Condition
The jar is in overall good condition. There are some expected imperfections in the glaze, including some marks on three ribs on one side resulting from the jar adhering to another in the kiln. There are a few dents to the footrim, originals to the piece.
