Description

  • Porcelain
of compressed globular form with lobed sides and a flanged rim, supported on a high foot, the domed cover of conforming section evoking the radiating petals of a chrysanthemum flower, applied overall with transparent glaze pooling to a light turquoise blue in the recessed areas, the interior and the base partly glazed, saved for the raised interior rim and footring left unglazed revealing the smooth white ware beneath

Condition

The box is in good overall condition. There is an original russet-coloured line to the surface on the interior of the box. There are some light scratches to the surface glaze on the top. The actual colour is less yellow, more sky-blue compared to the illustration in the catalogue.
