Description

  • hide, beads, brass, cowrie shells
overlaid across the shoulders with hide strips, each sinew sewn in white, faceted dark green and blue, and translucent red glass seed beads, with a series of alternating rectangular panels, the hemline surmounted by a beaded zigzag band and decorated with red ochre and small brass hawk bells, the yellow ochre-dyed yoke, trimmed with 155 cowries shells; two small beaded bundles on the neckline and additional cowrie shell pendants at the waist.

Condition

Very good condition with typical wear from age and use. Very minor bead loss and/or lose beads. Some light staining on the hide which is otherwise quite supple.
