In overall very good condition, some very minor spots of staining, the edges re-hemmed in some areas, as viewed.

Catalogue Note

The present emboidered blue silk belongs to a small group of Ottoman silk table covers produced in Istanbul in the eighteenth century. Published examples of similar embroideries, including hairdresser’s futas, are preserved in the Topkapi Palace Museum and the Sadberk Hanim Museum in Istanbul (See H. Bilgi., Asirlar Sonra Bir Arada, Sadberk Hanim Muzesi’nin Yurtdisindan Turkiye’ye Kazandirdigi Eserler, Istanbul, 2005, pp.182-195).
