Arabic manuscript on paper, 286 leaves, 13 lines to the page written in black muhaqqaq script, surah headings in larger gold script, bismillahs picked out in red throughout, gold dots separating verses, opening double page illluminated frontispiece with text written within cloud bands against a hatched ground filled with scrolling flowers, headings in large white thuluth script within foliate panels of blue and gold, ropework borders, corresponding double-page finispiece, later Mamluk-style leather binding with gold-punched geometric decoration, with flap
Condition
In reasonably good overall condition, one or two pages loose, some wear to spine, paper repairs to opening and closing pages, some waterstaining, pages generally clean and ink bold, as viewed.
