the barrel carved with an 18th century stag hunt, the support, scroll handle and cover carved with patterns and foliage, turned acorn finial, gilt-metal hinge

Condition

Bold and vigorous carving. 3 splits to barrel; artist's joins to handle; 3 small cracks visible on interior raying from finial. Gaps in rings of lid. Pin holes around base (pins detached but in small bag accompanying the piece). Base rim (which has been cracked in several places reglued.
