Condition
This is an exquisite bronze of fine quality. The same bronze model with an identical integral base is in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna (inv.n° 10012), another bronze with the same base, and bearing, as ours, the original integrally cast wine leaf and an identical posture is in a private collection (images available on request) and appears on a photograph from the 1930s on the Art market in Amsterdam. A third bronze of a Horse and Rider with the same bases is in the Louvre museum in Paris. All bronzes may once have belonged to the same collection.
The bronze is in very good condition overall with a few minor scratches and very minor wear consistent with age and handling. Minor surface dirt in the crevices which can be easily removed. She may have held an attribute in her proper left outstretched hand. Very crisp and fresh cast of heavy weight, caracteristic of the bronzes from Northern Italy.

Catalogue Note
