Condition
The door handle is in good overall condition with some flakes to the patina and some green traces of oxydation all over particularly to the ring's rim below the monster's mouth.

A pair of identical copper escutcheons, pu shou, was sold at Christie's' Hong Kong, 26th and 27th April 1998, lot 573, where it is noted that they are similar to fittings found in the Palace of Heavenly Purity, illustrated in Yu Zhouyun, Palaces of the Forbidden City, nos. 234, 320 and 323.
