Acquired in China before 1922.
Thence in the family by descent.

Condition

The textile is mounted as a hanging scroll. There are small areas of loss to the silk along the right hand side of the textile, particularly to the centre part of the right hand edge. There is light staining along all four edges one silk. The colours are fresh and of a richer tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
