This work is in very good overall condition. The bearing is slightly wavy and the edges are slightly yellowed. There are traces of pin-holes by the corners. Colours are warmer and more saturated compared to the catalogue illustration.

Il nome "Afdera" che si legge in basso a sinistra è quello della baronessa veneziana Afdera Franchetti, già amica di Ernest Hemingway e quarta moglie di Henry Fonda. Schifano la conobbe a Londra ed ebbe con lei una breve liason. Il 30 luglio 1966, sbarcando a Fiumicino la nobildonna fu arrestata per detenzione di stupefacenti: aveva con sè della marijuana da consegnare all’amico pittore, il quale fu a sua volta arrestato. La parola "Child" si riferisce all’immagine del bambino (Christopher Robin) che scende le scale tenendo per mano l’orsacchiotto Winnie the Pooh, fedelmente ripresa da un’illustrazione di Ernest H. Shepard  per il celebre libro di Alan Alexander Milne. Compare anche nel grande quadro di Schifano del 1965 Io sono infantile.

Il terzo nome, "Boccioni", indica la soprastante silhouette del famoso pittore futurista “ritagliata” da una fotografia del gruppo marinettiano a Parigi, immagine più volte replicata da Schifano proprio a partire dal 1965-66. "Color" invece allude ai vari colori presenti nell’opera donata dall’artista romano ad Afdera nel 1966.

The name “Afdera”,that can be found on the lower left, belongs to the Venetian baroness Afdera Franchetti, Ernest Hemingway’s friend and Henry Fonda’s fourth wife, whom Schifano met in London and had a short affair with. The 30^thJuly 1966, when landing in Fiumicino the lady was arrested for drugs’ possession as she was bringing marijuana for her dear artist friend, who was arrested as well.
The word “Child” refers to Christopher Robin who goes down the stairs holding his bear Winnie The Pooh, faithfully resumed from Ernest H. Sphepard’s illustration for the book by Alan Alexander Milne. This wording can also be found in the big scale painting by Schifano of the 1965 Io sono infantile. 
The third name, “Boccioni”, stands for the silhouette of the famous painter that has been cut from a  Futurist group photograph in Paris, this illustration was numerously repeated by Schifano during 1965-1966. Whilst “Color”  alludes to the various colours in the work which was gifted by the artist to Afdera in the 1966.
