Condition

Executed on white wove paper, not laid down, loosely fixed to the overmount in the corners with adhesive stickers. The four corners and the centres of each edge have been consolidated. The sheet has a flattened fold running vertically down the centre. There are finger smudges and traces of gold pen on the reverse. There is tape running along the reverse of the upper and side edges and some minor abrasion to the upper left edge. Otherwise this work is in overall good condition.

Catalogue Note

In 1968, at the height of his fame, Salvador Dali appeared in a humorous advertisement on French television for Lanvin chocolates. The present work is a preparatory sketch created at the time of this project.
