Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is more vivid in the original, especially in the green impastos. The work is executed on its original canvas and is not relined. Slight superficial stretcher marks are visible along the four edges. Four indents are visible under close inspection - one located at the extremity of the lower left corner that has been carefully retouched . Pinhead sized paint loss located 3.5 cm from the left edge and 53 cm from the upper edge. Two minor retouchings, one located 12 cm from the left edge and 54 cm from the upper edge and the other 18.5 cm from the left edge and 30 cm from the upper edge, are only visible under very close inspection. Under UV light, eight minor retouchings are visible along the right edge approximately between 70 cm and 100 cm from the upper edge. This work is in good condition.
