- An Egyptian Bronze Figure of Nefertum
- bronze
- Height without tenons 12 3/4 in. 32.4 cm.
striding on a rectangular base, holding a short stave and a sheathed scimitar with Horus-head terminal and lotus blossom at the hilt, and wearing a pleated royal kilt with chevron-decorated belt, bracelets, braided beard, and striated tripartite wig with uraeus, the crown composed of an open lotus blossom flanked by menets and surmounted by plumes, the crown with traces of glass paste inlay, an Eye of Horus engraved on the front, a ribbed pendant loop behind.

Condition
Generally good and as shown and described. Note ancient damage to right upper arm and corner of base. There is a section missing (casting flaw possibly) with a hole in the center on the proper left side of the base, and a small hole on the other side, other minor imperfections on the base. Top of plumes worn. Tip of nose and lips slightly worn. The entire figure appears to have been re-patinated black, although by what method is not known.
