A RARE PAIR OF CHINESE STONEWARE FIGURES OF HAWKS 19TH CENTURY

Both have numerous firing cracks and tears overall inherent in the material. The hawk on the left hand of the catalogue illustration has restoration to the top of the left leg, tip of wing feathers and tip of beak. Some minor flakes and losses to the glaze overall. The other hawk has restoration to the upper beak, tips of wing feathers, small area to the back, left leg, claw and dead bird. It appears to have been broken off its base and restored back on through the stump and the smaller stump where the tail attaches.
