Catalogue Note

Last operated at San Souci Park, Pennsylvania. Carved in Providence, Rhode Island. Like other carousel companies, the designs of Charles Looff's figures went through many iterations based on the creative bent of the shop foreman. This horse, as were most of Looff's figures from 1908 through 1912, was designed by John Zalar, who had a remarkable flair for motion and detail.
