Condition
Condition Report from Alvarez Fine Art Services, Inc., an independent conservator of works on paper (August 13, 10140: Overall this pastel on paper board is in fair condition and does not present tears or planar distortions. The facing paper is mounted to a vintage 1/8" thick acidic paper board. There are numerous paper losses to the edges due to handling: two shallow scalloped losses at the top edge, one at the top-right corner, and another at the bottom-right corner. Visually, the paper board is extensively oxidized throughout from contact with acidic material and a natural process of aging due to UV light exposure; this is evidenced by a lighter paper tone at the extreme edges. A mild field of foxing stains is noticeable throughout; the two heaviest spots are located at the top-left and to-right quadrants. Overall the medium appears well preserved and does not exhibit signs of smudging or drift.
