blued round barrel marked FITCH & WALDO, N.Y., fluted 5-shot cylinder, frame engraved with scrolls, case-hardened hammer and loading-lever, numbered 326 on rear face of cylinder, inside of trigger-guard, on barrel under loading-lever, loading-lever, wedge, loading-lever latch, interior of frame and interior of grips (in pencil), varnished walnut grips

Fitch & Waldo (1864 - 1866), 15 Maiden Lane, Manhattan.
Howard Waldo (1832 - died about 1920), before the founding of Fitch, Waldo & Barre and then Fitch & Waldo, worked for Schuyler, Hartley & Graham.
Approximately 100 were made circa 1864.
