Condition
The canvas has been strip-lined along the tacking edges. Ultraviolet light reveals scattered spots and small strokes of retouching. The work's appearance under normal light is good and it is ready to hang.
Presented in a carved wood frame. The colours are warmer overall than in the catalogue illustration.

Catalogue Note
Painted between 1933 and 1938, Portrait is an early work by Younan, pre-dating his move towards abstraction.
