Condition

The canvas has not been lined. Ultra-violet light reveals some scattered possible minor strokes of retouching, notably in the brown background in the upper-right quadrant, and some other signs of fluorescence notably in the left half of the redarea which would certainly appear to correspond to the artist's pigments and not retouching. This work is overall in good original condition. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a black-painted inner slip, and the edges of the canvas visible.
