Condition

Overall in very good condition. The rosewood backrail with some light discoloration consistent with minor sun exposure, light surface scratches and some minor rubbing to finish consistent with age and use. The base with scattered losses to the veneer, as seen in the catalogue illustration. The base with evidence of minor lifting and minor areas of amateur restoration to mask losses to the rosewood veneer. The fabric upholstery with some scattered light discolorations and rubbing along the backrail, consistent with age and gentle use. This example of the chaise is based on a form designed for the SS Normandie.
