Condition
Overall in very good condition. All of the favrile glass prisms are intact and appear to be from the period and undisturbed. The prisms are intensely iridized and display strong luminous color when see with reflected light. The prisms with a few small air bubble inclusions inherent in the making, and with a few very small and minor edge flecks along the top recessed areas adjacent to the suspension hooks. All of the patinated metal chains and spheres appear to be period and undisturbed. The reticulated bronze canopy displays an exceptionally deep and rich russet brown and green patina, with minimal gentle surface wear and rubbing. The top ceiling canopy with a few minor surface scratches and rubbing, and a small area of surface discoloration where it meets the rod. All of the bronze components, ceiling canopy, and sockets appear original and undisturbed. The lantern displays beautifully, with spectacular Moorish-inspired sculptural form and strong visual interest. It is equally attractive when viewed with reflected or illuminated light.
