Overall the condition of the marble is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few naturally occurring inclusions and some minor naturally occurring veining to the surface.

Catalogue Note

A descendant from an established family of Carrarese sculptors, Alessandro Lazzerini studied at Carrara's Accademia di Belle Arti under Ferdinando Pelliccia and his father, Giuseppe. He exhibited at the Paris Salon, at whose Exposition Universelle in 1889 he received an honourable mention, followed by a bronze medal at the Exposition in 1900.
