Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There are fine horizontal lines of craquelure overall. Under ultraviolet light the varnish fluoresces quite opaquely, obscuring a clear reading of the surface, however areas of retouching are visible in the sky (some discoloured and visible in the catalogue illustration), notably a circa 8 by 13cm area just above the tree near the left edge, 3 adjacent areas circa 10 by 9cm, c. 6 by 20cm., and c. 9 by 8cm in the upper-right quadrant of the composition, and some scattered smaller areas and small strokes. The colours are slightly more yellow and less contrasted in the original than in the catalogue illustration.
Held in a black frame with gold-painted ornaments.
