Condition

This work is in good overall condition, and its appearance could be improved with a light surface clean. The canvas has not been lined. There are a few scattered tiny spots of paint flaking, notably in the pavement in the lower right and façade of the building near the centre of the left edge, and a pattern of faint craquelure visible notably in the lighter pigments in the sky. Under ultraviolet light the old varnish fluoresces evenly and quite opaquely, obscuring a clear reading of the surface however there do not appear to be any visible signs of retouching.
