Condition
Original canvas. Ultra-violet light reveals some scattered relatively minor signs of retouching, notably to a small vertical 2cm repair in the upper centre of her dress (patched on the reverse), spots of strengthening in the background in the upper-right quadrant and upper centre, and some pinhead-sized spots in the figure's face. This work is in good overall condition and ready to hang.
The colours are deeper and richer overall in reality than in the catalogue illustration.
Presented in a substantial gilt frame with floral motifs.
