Condition
The sheet has been laid down onto the backboard, and has become more brown with age. There are lines of craquelure in the thick gouache pigments in the figure in the lower centre, with a few associated pinhead-sized spots of paint flaking. There are three faint hairline scratches in the lower right quadrant visible under close inspection, and some tiny drops of white paint near the lower part of the right edge, which may be original to the work.
Presented framed and under glass, the extreme edges of the sheet covered by the mat and not visible framed.
The colours are somewhat less red overall than in the catalogue illustration, and the blues and greens slightly more intense.
