single leaf, 167mm. by 110mm., with two half-page arch-topped miniatures, each 90mm. high: (a) St. John as a young man in gold robes, blessing the poisoned chalice before a group of men in a wide open rocky landscape, two dead bodies on the floor behind him; (b) St. Michael in golden armour stamping on a grinning bat-winged devil as he raises his sword to strike it, in a similar landscape; both above 12 lines of fine lettre bâtarde, initials and line-fillers in liquid gold on red, brown and blue grounds, folio number “94” in later hand, excellent condition
