Catalogue Note

The rare, large-paper coloured issue of one of the major nineteenth-century Brazilian floras. Pohl travelled to Brazil with Martius and Spix in 1817-1821, and was later curator of the Vienna Natural History and Vienna Brazilian museums. His work forms an indispensable companion and supplement to Martius's Nova genera et species plantarum, 1824-1829.
