Condition

Overall in very good condition. There are approximately 40-45 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout the shade, which is an acceptable number when taking into consideration the vast number of individual glass tiles required to execute this large and complex shade pattern. As is commonly seen with conical hangers, the bronze beaded border has been re-stabilized to the bottom border of the shade at a few points around the perimeter. With surface soiling around many of the exterior lead lines, and to some of the recessed contours of the rippled textured glass. All of the sockets and paddle switches appear to be from the period and undisturbed. The rod, chains and ceiling canopy appear to be replaced. If desired, the bar and chain links may be easily reduced to accommodate for a lower ceiling height. The chandelier presents beautifully, displaying a highly artistic and well-varied glass selection which imparts the shade with a tremendous amount of visual depth and movement. The glass which was thoughtfully selected for this shade shows a wide variety of decorative techniques, including “confetti” glass, rippled textured glass, vigorously mottled glass and striated glass, all which add to the strong visual interest and artistry of this stunning shade.
