Condition
Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 25-30 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout, which is a relatively low number in proportion to the vast number of small glass tiles that were required to execute this complex pattern. The shade leading is finely executed, expertly delineating the delicate curvature of the poinsettia blossoms, and displaying a rich russet brown and green patina. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base display a particularly vibrant russet brown and moss green layered patina. The patinated bronze surfaces with some occasional light surface scratches, abrasions, rubbing and some scattered surface soiling and residue consistent with age and use. All of the sockets and paddle switches appear original and undisturbed. With a period finial, which displays a closely corresponding patina to the base. The upper knop of the finial with a few minute paint specks. Lacking cord bushing around the perimeter edge of the base cushion. An outstanding example of this elaborate poinsettia model, displaying a full range of brilliant jewel tones articulating the poinsettia blossoms and background passages. The poinsettia flowers are defined in a wide range of reds, magentas and pinks with the stamens dotted with oranges, yellows and greens. The background passages are articulated in vibrant hues of turquoise striated with red and magenta accents. When viewed in person the lamp shows greater color variation and artistic nuance to the glass than seen in the catalogue illustrations, which are slightly oversaturated.
Please note the shade marking is TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1551.
