Condition
The canvas has an old relining which is providing a stable support. The surface is in very good condition, with a yellowed varnish that would respond well to cleaning. With the exception of a very minor stroke of retouching along the extreme right framing edge, visible under ultra violet light, this painting is therefore in very good condition.
Held in its original Salon-style gilt wood frame.
The colours in the catalogue illustration are overall accurate, although the varnish is slightly yellower in reality.
