Super-Royal folio (417 x 270mm.), 317 leaves (of 320, without 3 blank leaves), [a-n10 o-p12 q-t10 v8 x6 y-z aa-dd10 ee8 ff10 gg-hh12 ii10], double column, 50 lines, roman type, paraphs in red and blue, 2- to 8-line initials in red and blue, headlines supplied in red with chapter titles given in manuscript at upper right hand corner, early annotations, first leaf with large contemporary illustration of a lecturer with three pupils, 8-line initial in pink on a gold and red ground with decoration in pink, green and blue and matching marginal floral decoration, gold coat of arms at foot with initials W.F., early manuscript signatures, modern half calf binding, spine lettered in gilt, blue ink slightly smudged, wormhole at head of gutter in centre of book and in upper margin towards end, last few leaves wormed, last leaf soiled and repaired at edges
