Under naked eye, the painting appears in very good condition. No visible repaint under UV light The photography is slightly too light and the water is more green in the painting

Catalogue Note

Séjournant à Paris en 1892, Frits Thaulow habitait un appartement au 5 rue de Bellay sur l'île Saint-Louis, juste à côté du pont Marie. C'est à cette période qu'il conçut la série La Seine en novembre-décembre-janvier-février-mars, prenant un point de vue différent autour de l'île Saint-Louis pour chaque mois. Cette série a été exposée à Paris, au Salon de la Société nationale des Beaux-Arts en 1893, n° 1012 à 1017. Notre tableau en faisait probablement partie.
