Condition
The photography is slightly too light and too yellow
Under nakes eye, the painting appears on its original canvas and in its original frame. We can notice one slight trace of the stretcher in the center and along the edges
Under UV light, two small scratches are visible in the lower left hand side ; one repaint is visible in the sky in the center and some tiny retouchings are visible under the church at the background
The painting is in very good condition

Le catalogue de la vente de la galerie Georges Petit en 1900 décrit ainsi notre tableau: "Le pré s'étend jusqu'à l'horizon où il rencontre des bois. Parfois, à gauche on aperçoit des meules. Dans les premiers plans, au milieu, les verdures s'écartent et forment une ceinture d'herbes vertes à une mare, où se réfléchissent les grandes nuées blanches dont les formes titanesques évoluent, vagues et indéfinies, sur l'océan du ciel bleu".
