Condition

Overall very good condition. The top surface of this desk with a nice shape showing a gentle free edge and rich tone to the sap lines along the front edge. The desk top with some minor surface scratches, edge nicks and rubbing to finish that are consistent with gentle use. The desk top presents with some minor evidence of sunfading, in particular to the rosewood keys. The front edge of the desk presents with two areas of prior restoration which appear to stabilize minor three vertical cracks to the immediate front edge. These restorations include areas of infill which have darkened slightly with age that are visible in the catalogue illustration. The drawer case with a series of minor indentations to the proper left interior edge adjacent to the second drawer. The desk presents with a nice scale when viewed in person and with a highly figured and freeform top heightened by two of Nakashima’s signature rosewood butterfly keys.
